Bio

Born in Ontario, Canada to Jamaican parents, Jade Stone has been a writer most of her life. From the age of 6 she was writing full-fledged stories, and even what can be considered spec scripts of her favourite kid shows, at the age of 9.

At the age of 14, she ventured in background acting and realized the realities of being placed in a role that wasn’t made for her. At that very moment on the set, she decided she was going to make writing screenplays her career.

She followed her dreams to Ryerson University where she unfortunately made zero friends and lost her four year scholarship thanks to the first term’s writing course. A bird course that practically everyone else passed. But not this writer.

After accumulating tons of debt by the time final year rolled around (thank you douchebag professor), she put all her effort into writing a feature film screenplay, hoping it would lead somewhere.

Two years later, that same screenplay won a Rising Star Award from the Canada International Film Festival. And almost a decade later, the script is finally being made into a film.

Between graduating and getting her debut feature film made, there have been many roadblocks and rejections. The journey has been a long one, but it is not over yet. She has many more stories in her to tell.

Intro

I’m a dark comedy writer first and foremost. I’m also a director looking to hone my directing skills and a producer. I’m looking to work in both film and TV.

Right now, I’m working on a feature film – my own. A dark comedy called Mary.

Also in the works is a dark comedy teen series.

Also in the process of starting a streaming channel.
