Bio

Mandeq Hassan is an actress, writer and filmmaker hailing from Regent Park, Toronto. Mandeq was a youth committee member for TIFF Next Wave in 2016 as well as participated in the 2018 Telluride Student Symposium. She is an originating Company Member, and a writer, creator and actor of “The Regent Park Project” as well as a writer on the Telefilm funded web series “Gay Mean Girls”.  At Sisterhood Media, Mandeq is the Programs and Acquisitions Director, curating the programs for both Sisterhood Media events and the streaming platform Sisterhood Media TV. Her focus is to bring to light the diversity of stories that she has found in her life through film. She hopes to continue to discuss social themes in her future work as well as within her community. Mandeq is currently represented by Maria Ralley at Edna Talent Management.
