Bio

María José [MJ] Arauz is a Honduran narrative and documentary producer. She recently finished the Graduate program Film and TV Business in Centennial College Media Arts. MJ has experience working as an associate producer, production coordinator, and assistant director on feature films, documentaries, and shorts both in Honduras and the United States. MJ is a member and collaborator of the Collective of Honduran Women Filmmakers, Brown Girls Doc Mafia Collective and WIFT+. Her recent feature documentary film With This Light has been screened in Italy and the US winning Jury Award at Austin Film Festival; and her feature film 90 Minutes has been shown in 10 countries, including US, Korean, Swiss, Cuban, Bolivian and Argentinian film festivals.

Intro

I am an enthusiastic and dedicated individual with a passion for Factual/Lifestyle television and documentary filmmaking. As a film and TV business graduate and a narrative and documentary producer with experience working on feature films, shorts, and documentaries, I have developed a deep understanding of the production process and storytelling. I am eager to bring my skills, creativity, and strong work ethic to a role in the factual television or documentary field, where I can continue to learn and grow as a filmmaker while making meaningful and impactful content.
