Bio

With a love for striking imagery, and proven experience in production design, art direction, and photography, Nicole Simmons fuses both her personal and professional passions through each of her projects. As an active participant in the whole creative process, from conception to completion, she is committed to creating whole worlds through her work, which are always engaging and thought-provoking, and never fail to be on brand with her clients’ needs.

Her career as an Art Director and Production Designer was sparked by her early love of interior and fashion design as a teen. That love compelled her to get her Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Management at Humber College in 2013. It also led her to become one of thee Co-Creators and Designers of broke&living, a unisex clothing brand and collective based in Toronto, where she art directs and executes the brand’s visuals. Prior to her work in production and design, Nicole was a Trend and Product Specialist for Homesense Canada. Her role there enabled her to travel, design, develop products, and provide valuable trend research to her teams.

Within the screen industries, Nicole has worked as a Production Designer and Art Director for over 10 music videos, as well as two feature films (SCARBOROUGH, based on the best selling novel by Catherine Hernandez; THIS PLACE) and one short film (BOOK WORM). As she continues to learn and grow, Nicole remains committed to exploring and pushing boundaries through her creative output, both at home and abroad. She looks forward to new collaborations that redefine our standards and expectations, reimagining the possibilities and impact of both art direction and design across all spheres of cinematic storytelling.
