Bio

My name is Simaran Hubbell and I was born and raised in Toronto, ON. I’m a person of mixed-heritage (primarily Indian and Austrian), which made it difficult growing up to find my “group of people”. I ended up discovering the edges of the creative community and realized it was where I belonged. Since then, I completed my Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Toronto in the field of New Media, minoring in Studio Arts (with a digital focus) and Creative Writing.

While at U of T, I had a short story called “We All Come Home” published in the UTSC literary journal Scarborough Fair after having it win second place in the contest for the fiction category.

Intro

I found out about this website through someone who I was trying to network with. I am very interested in one day becoming a showrunner, and am currently interested in finding work in the TV writing industry. I am also open to other paths though, as I know that sometimes the greatest things in life happen because an unexpected opportunity presents itself. I love to learn new skills, and would love to meet new people within this large media industry to learn more about various career paths and job opportunities.
