Bio

Tasneem pronounced ( T’us-knee’m ) is a Canadian Artist who grew up in Oklahoma calls Toronto home and always has their roots planted in East Africa. They are a multi disciplinary Artist and Activist with a focus on music, acting, and writing. A graduate of New York University they have appeared on Netflix and TruTV. Tasneem participated in CBS Diversity Sketch Showcase as a writer and took part in the OutFest InFusion NBC/Universal writers workshop. They were invited by The National Film Board of Canada and The John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Social Justice to participate in the Emerging Canadian Filmmakers Lab. Their music can be heard on Amazon On Demand and Logo Channel. They are currently a Music Producer Mentor at Artscape Daniels Launchpad in Toronto. They have shared stages with Femi Kuti, Florence and the Machine and Kelis.  Their directorial debut a Musical short was written and performed with support from Muslim Public Affairs Council. As an actor Tasneem recently took part in ABC’s Workshop for ABC Discovers. They are repped by Ronda Cooper at The Characters Talent agency and are actively pursuing representation as a writer in Canada. Tasneem seeks to create work and tell stories that amplify their unique voice and experience.
