Bio

I’ve been working in the digital media industry since 2008. Since then I’ve been a writer, editor, photographer, and video editor/filmmaker. I’ve managed teams and also acted as a mentor for student writers and photographers for an online travel media school.

Since 2016 most of my energy has been focused on video editing for social media, as part of a small team that grew Matador Network’s Facebook page from around half a million followers to almost two million. In that time I’ve also shot, edited, and even scored some documentary films. Today, I am a Freelance Videographer and Documentary Filmmaker, with a strong focus on non-profit organizations, social justice issues, and outdoor adventure.

I live in Nelson, BC, a home I chose in 2010 to set down roots, and where I met my wife. It’s a wild, mountainous town of 10,000 people with a strong sense of community. I rock climb, canoe, hike, bike, and play tennis and music. I am also on the Board of Directors for our local non-profit, independent movie theatre, The Civic Theatre.

I believe strongly in open communication. I’m progressive and an advocate for social justice. I believe we need to help each other up, not put others down. I like to be lifted by others around me, and I hope to elevate people I work and play with.
