Bio

When I was 9, I had a TV show change my life. It combined stories about war, female rights, character nuance and growth, beautiful animation, and was a tool for social change. It made people think differently about this world. It spoke to all ages. It was simple. It was Avatar: The Last Airbender. It may seem so juvenile but it’s something I’ve liked since I was 9, and I still love to this day at the age of 23. I can’t help laughing when I watch it because it’s nostalgic. It speaks to and validates everything I felt when I was younger.

The amazing thing about media is its ability to express opinions, feelings, or ideas and share them with the world. I love media production because it’s visual, combines graphic design, website design, writing, costume and production design together to create a single piece. It’s because of this, that I love storytelling. The power to tell a story through various platforms; being able to make a single cut, or place music at an exact moment, or create the perfect pacing can change how someone views a scene and impact how they feel. I like the process of finding that moment.

Flash forward to now – I’m a Digital Media Producer with a passion for telling compelling stories that change people, motivate them to unleash their imagination and empower them to believe that all things are possible, even when they feel like they are not.

In the last few years, I’ve had the privilege to work in various roles, from a Multimedia Design Assistant for Ryerson University to a Trainee Assistant Picture Editor for American Gods Season 2.

When I’m not working, I teach small business owners how to master basic tech skills on my YouTube channel Tech with Tia. My goal is to simplify tech so that anyone can leverage it to share their creative gifts with the world.
